In this uncommon item, Powell honors General Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th President of the United States. The cover bears a blue cachet with images of a smiling Eisenhower and the Eisenhower Memorial at Abilene, Kansas. It identifies the stamp as the 1970 &;ldquo;definitive issue” of the Eisenhower 6¢ sheet stamp and is postmarked at Washington, D.C., August 6, 1970, the first day of issue of the stamp.
The envelope has a pencil notation identifying Powell on the reverse and overall is in very fine condition. Powell has signed in black.
